Ornithopedia Europe offers a searchable list of all 1144 birds in the Western Palearctic (greater European area) in 17 languages.The App comes with over 3200 pictures, 29.000 streaming sound files and 2500 streaming Youtube videos and much more. You can also include your own content (pictures or sounds) seamlessly. Additional features include a search by visual characteristics of a bird and an Ornitho-Trainer, for training to recognize bird features of common birds. Currently in testing is also a feature for making lists.The Western Palearctic is one of the eight ecozones (a region that shares similar plant and wildlife) of the world. It centers and includes all of Europe with nearby parts of western Asia and northern parts of Africa. You also have the possibility to get more content by downloading free modules. The modules currently available are:- High quality version of all 3200 pictures (+ 161 MB-440 MB, depending on the module chosen)- 4 Different Sound modules, with between 600 and 3000 Sound files (+ 130 MB-1.1 GB, depending on the module chosen)- Offline Wikipedia article for all birds (+ 3-50 MB each, depending on the language selected)This field guide / hobby ornithology / educational birding App was published in August of 2013.Everything is for free and all resources used are creative commons or equally free licensed and attributed as well as possible.Streaming content obviously needs an internet connection to work, if you dont want those features you can disable them.
